Minecraft Modding
Minecraft is a world of infinite possibilities, but the real magic happens when you go from playing by the rules to writing them. Our Minecraft Modding Course invites students to step into the role of a software architect, using MCreator to redesign the game from the inside out. By moving beyond standard gameplay, Encoders learn that they don't have to wait for an update to see new features—they can build them. This course serves as a powerful bridge to computer science, showing students that with the right logic and tools, they have the power to change any digital environment.

TEACHER TO STUDENTS
In this creative track, students use MCreator to develop custom modifications, or "mods," for the Minecraft universe. Instead of just playing with existing items, Encoders learn to design and script their own custom armor, unique food items, and specialized blocks from scratch. They dive into the mechanics of game data, learning how to assign properties, craft recipes, and trigger events within the game engine. By navigating a professional development interface, students gain a deep understanding of how software components interact. With guidance from our instructors, they learn to troubleshoot their builds and refine their designs, transforming their creative ideas into functional additions to their favorite game.
